Migraine & Headache Awareness Month #10 #MHAMBC - With Arms Wide Open

Our challenge prompt today is to study THIS PHOTO, then write on:

Dreaming of a world without Headache and Migraine; the thought of a life you control instead of your diagnosis. When you look at that image of arms outstretched on a moonlit night, what do you think?

Please note that the photo is copyrighted. Thus, I could not include it in this prompt post.

Hope, freedom, acceptance, adventure, openness... That is what this photo makes me feel.  Outstretched arms, to me, are a symbol of welcoming whatever life may bring.  I think of myself as someone who is open to new things.  Trying new and different approaches to treatment is something I welcome with open arms, even though they have the possibility of failing me and bringing disappointment.  This photo also makes me feel as though I am free to explore the world and all of the possibilities it brings.  I am uninhibited in the sense that despite certain limitations physically, my mind is free to conjure up new and exciting adventures.  I accept that my life is more challenging and restricted than others.  Yet, that does not preclude me from participating in what life has to offer.  I am unique in my design.  Pain has sculpted me into a fine and exquisite being with deep insights about life and purpose.  Acknowledging my value and taking the time to dwell in the good instead of all the negative experiences I have been through, has freed me from the pits of despair I once sought refuge in.  That big, beautiful moon in the sky represents dreams, ambitions and hopes.  All of which are things that are attainable.  I am not exempt from any of it just because my body isn't wired like a healthy, disease-free person.  All it means is that the paths I must take to achieve those aspirations are different and may require special accommodations in order for me to traverse them.  Well, that's okay by me for I know that there is something great waiting for me.  I will be standing, with arms wide open ready to embrace it when it finally comes.
