Women’s Chronic Illness During a Pandemic: A Virtual Congressional Briefing

Stigma in women’s health is a cross-cutting women’s issue, as demonstrated by migraine disease and ME/CFS. The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed deep structural problems and profound inequities in American healthcare. In doing so, it has also produced an opportunity for us to build a more just healthcare system.

As emerging evidence indicates lasting health complications in COVID-19, how is the ongoing pandemic going to impact women with chronic illness? Migraine disease and ME/CFS are complex, unexplained neurological diseases that are extremely difficult to treat and disproportionately impact women. Through this lens, we explore the increasing economic burden, lagging clinical care, and scientific opportunity of women’s chronic illness during the current crisis.

Join the Solve ME/CFS Initiative, Headache and Migraine Policy Forum, and Miles for Migraine, in collaboration with the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus for an online education roundtable, “Women’s Chronic Illness During a Pandemic.”

The webinar will feature presentations from national experts including Dawn Buse, Joanna Kempner, and Jaime Sanders and will be moderated by TV host and author Jedediah Bila.

The webinar explores:
  • Stigma
  • Workforce / Disability
  • Telehealth
  • And more

Welcome caucus Vice-Chair Madeleine Dean and Jedediah Bila of Fox & Friends Weekend in this groundbreaking discussion of women’s health and chronic illness in the age of COVID-19.
