There is a great resource from the Patient Advocate Foundation called Migraine CareLine that helps patients who have been denied by their insurance to get access to medications. I’m currently using them to see if I can get a medication dosage covered that was previously denied. I highly recommend it and it’s free.
That’s a hard question to answer. Migraine is a complex neurological disease and it affects everyone so differently. There is no cure for migraine but what has been shown to work best is combination therapy. Combining the use of a CGRP inhibitor such as Emgality, Aimovig or Ajovy with Botox can greatly increase the outcomes of lowering frequency and severity. Trigger management, sleep hygiene, diet, exercise, etc. all play a role as well.
Speak with your doctor about what the best steps are for your particular migraine. I hate that you also live with this disease. I wish you the best of luck. It’s a process for sure. Hugs. 💜💜

Oh my goodness, I tried essential oils... any odors of any kind just make my head hurt worse.
ReplyDeleteEssential oils are triggers for some. For me, they work and don’t bother me but it’s limited to specific scents.
DeleteWhat else can be done to stop these migranes?
