If you were to ask me, Mother Nature has it out for us migraineurs. With weather being one of my biggest triggers I tend not to be very fond of the old lady. For instance, I am behind six days on this blog challenge due to severe migraine attacks daily due to extreme heat and humidity. Summer is a season in which I dread its arrival. Yesterday was so hot that the heat index reached 101 degrees. I am doing my best to get caught up but as long as this intense heat continues, it is going to be challenging.

One of my favorite things to do is to watch The Universe on the History Channel. Anything there is to learn about the planets, solar system, constellations, and the universe in general I want to know. I am fascinated by it all. The universe represents endless possibilities. I like to extend that into my own life and believe that in my future lies a life where my migraine disease is better controlled and that the root cause of migraine will be identified. Aside from all the weather related triggers, nature is full of beauty and wonder. When I take my walks around the neighborhood, I always make sure to take in my surroundings. The trees, the gentle breezes, spotting a Cardinal sitting on a fence. It all centers me whenever I am feeling overwhelmed by how hard my migraines have been to treat. I forget for a moment that I have any hardships in my life and begin to appreciate the more positive things. Nature can certainly remind you that there is hope all around you, if you are willing to take notice. Getting out of your head (which can be difficult when it's the one thing making you miserable) and looking outward can bring brighter and healthier perspectives.
