#MHAMBC Day 3 - It's All in the Small Things

Small Headache and Migraine Hopes: What small thing gives you hope for living with Headaches and Migraines?

"...Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." - Matthew 17:20

When you have a long history with Migraine, you are made to realize what is most important in life.  The things that you place your values, hopes and joy into change and what you used to see as contingencies for happiness no longer matter as much.  It is all in the simple and everyday things where hope lies for me.  Having the ability to walk in my neighborhood and breathe in the fresh, morning air gives me hope.  I may wind up in bed later with a migraine but I'm grateful for having two legs that allow me to move.  My neurostimulator gives me hope because I have better pain management and control in my daily life that allows me to take those walks.  Seeing that my children are happy, well-rounded, and content despite my illness gives me hope.  The "biggest" small thing that gives me hope is faith.  Faith in that my disease will improve enough to the point where I am no longer chronic and back to being episodic.  I am perfectly okay with having 2-3 migraines a month compared to 15 or more.  And hopefully, in time, advancements in migraine research and treatment will be made to make that a possibility.
